The fifty members of Die Junge Akademie gather thrice a year in alternating cities. In 2024, the fall plenary session will be held in Munich.

In 2025, the Berlin-Brandenburg Akademie of Sciences and Humanities will once again open its doors to the public and invite visitors to the Salon Sophie Charlotte. (more information to follow)

As part of the project ‘Infinity - Emptiness - Liveliness’, an exhibition will take place at the Planetarium in Hamburg from 25 January to 30 May 2025, presenting imaginations of boundlessness from an artistic, mathematical and physical perspective. The exhibition will open with a vernissage on 24 January 2025 from 6 pm.

The aim of the interdisciplinary workshop of the Research Group "Language" is to shed light on the possibilities of complex and simple communication in science.

On 7 and 8 October 2024, members of the Junge Akademie will meet with members of the Junge Akademie | Mainz, the Junge Akademie | HAdW, the Young Academy of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities and the Young Academy Fellows of the Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Hamburg at the Leopoldina in Halle.

Talking about art: For some artists, the linguistic construction of an artistic programme or an artistic position is an inherent part of their work. Others see it as a challenging communicative task to speak and write about their own art in professional contexts or in front of a critical audience. In addition to individual differences, there are also differences specific to art forms and media.

The aim of this interdisciplinary workshop organised by the Working Group Language is to shed light on the broad field of artistic communication.

In this workshop we want to try a little experiment “on our own” and compare scientific texts from different subjects to see how they use language to present scientific results. We are not concerned with an exact linguistic description of individual phenomena, but rather with our spontaneous impressions: How do texts from other disciplines affect us, which stylistic features surprise or irritate us, what seems familiar to us? What linguistic means do the articles use to present their problem/question? What is considered as 'fact' in each case? How is the argumentation made?

Every year, the German Academic Scholarship Foundation offers a one-week Spring Academy at the monastery of Roggenburg for interested scholarship holders. At the next Spring Academy, some members of Die Junge Akademie will be leading working groups.

The meeting of the Council of Die Junge Akademie with the members will take place in Berlin the day before the Salon Sophie Charlotte.
