Council

The Council of Die Junge Akademie is a committee which advises the members and the Board and helps build the network of Die Junge Akademie with science, arts and society. The up to seven council members are elected for three years and come from various scientific and artistic disciplines as well as other areas of society, science management and science policy. Die Junge Akademie alumni are also regularly involved.

Council members should deliver impetus, criticism, ideas and assistance and in so doing support the members in discovering new intersections between science and society, politics, art and culture. This is not a matter of supervision or even controlling the work of others. Instead, the work of the Council is focused on dialogue with a group of independent thinkers, personalities from science and socio-critical consultants that meet at least once a year with members of Die Junge Akademie.
