Workshop "Schräge Vormoderne Herrscher in (Post-)Moderner Rezeption"
Under the working title "Schräge Vormoderne Herrscher in (Post-)Moderner Rezeption" ("Weird rulers of the pre-modern era in (post-)modern reception"), Die Junge Akademie's Popular Culture(s) research group is looking at the fascinating figure of the Roman emperor Elagabal in correlation to contemporary actors. Among other things, it is planning a multimedia exhibition. A first internal workshop on the project will take place in Berlin from 19-20 August 2022.

Antiquity Slam with Christopher Degelmann
The Antiquity Slam is a science slam especially for and about the ancient sciences.
This year it is going into its 5th round. In a relaxed atmosphere, five scientists from disciplines such as classical archaeology, ancient history, prehistory and early history or numismatics present their current research topics to a curious audience. Among the presenters will be Christopher Degelmann, who joined Die Junge Akademie this year.
A cooperation event of the Berliner Antike-Kolleg and the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities.

Wissensstadt Berlin 2021: Remembering, differently?
On the occasion of the project Wissensstadt Berlin 2021 („Berlin - City of Knowledge 2021“), the city of Berlin as a location for research and science is presenting itself to a broad public in numerous events this year.
With an event titled "Remembering, differently?", Die Junge Akademie is also participating in the project. Our members will discuss forms of remembering and possibilities of historiography in the arts and sciences.
