"Big data" and the analyses based on it are crucial for ecology in order to better understand how ecosystems function and - in view of the climate and biodiversity crisis - to be able to propose the most sustainable use concepts for landscapes. In the workshop "Data Science meets (Agro)ecology, Reloaded", Nadja Klein and Anna Cord of Die Junge Akademie, together with young scientists from both Research Groups, examined this challenge from their disciplinary perspectives, discussed suitable data and methods together and further deepened interdisciplinary cooperation and research ideas.
This workshop is a follow-up to the successful first workshop in 2022 in Berlin. This has already resulted in 2 joint interdisciplinary publications.
The workshop was organised by the mathematician Nadja Klein and the alumna Anna Cord.
