Die Junge Akademie and the Israel Young Academy are organising a symposium on the future role of scientific research and academic cooperation in the 21st century. The event will take place in Berlin from 17 to 20 February 2025.

The aim of this event is to bring together representatives of several young academies to create a forum for forward-looking conversations about the important role of individual researchers and academic institutions as potential agents of change.

The symposium will focus on the challenges of academia in general and in Israel in particular, the promotion of internationalisation in research and the strengthening of international networks between young researchers. The conference, which will include discussions, presentations and workshops, will offer the opportunity to present the main areas of focus in the Israeli academic landscape and to exchange ideas about joint research projects. In addition to representatives of the Israeli and German young academies, representatives from Canada, Austria, Korea and India will also take part.
