The fifty members of the Junge Akademie gather thrice a year in alternating cities.
During the reception, that takes place in Berlin every summer, ten new members are welcomed to the Junge Akademie. At the same time ten 'old' members retire after a duration of five years from active membership and assume the status of alumni.
