Medicine- and Bioethics
In today's medicine- and bioethics, there is a strong need for generally binding norms.
However, consensus decisions tend to be hampered by the fact that they are normally accompanied by a discussion of values. The members of the RG therefore concerned themselves with a broad spectrum of ethical questions which have arisen out of developments in medicine and healthcare. They particularly debated the societal functions and forms of institutionalisation of medicine- and bioethics – for instance at their spring 2006 workshop entitled "On the Possibility of Cross-Cultural Bioethics".
